Cellhire is adopting BT Wholesale’s new Complete Mobile proposition to give its channel partners enhanced access to EE with contract flexibility, pricing improvements, and bespoke branding.

Complete Mobile is  BT Wholesale new project that provides the wholesale channel with portfolio of tariffs designed for mobile resellers to access to EE. It went live last month for new business and migrations from legacy EE contracts.

Offerings to partners include 30-day SIM-only contracts alongside 12-month and 24-month terms to overcome objections from business buyers over longer-term lock-ins wholesale channel.

Complete Mobile allows resellers to brand the mobile service to their own organisation and tailor commercial support. The idea is to help partners move beyond commoditised connectivity and build deeper customer relationships Planned portal integration for SIM management, billing, and reporting will also be available to partner operations.

Cellhire MD Matt Bennett says the initiative will unlock new revenue streams and extend reach and help partners deal with demands partners face in competing with rival wholesale offerings.

Bennet: “unlocking new revenue streams”

“Demand for EE’s network capabilities has surged, and this partnership empowers us to provide more future-ready offerings. This isn’t just about better connectivity. It’s about creating opportunities for partners to unlock new revenues, reach broader audiences, and drive sustainable growth.”

Cellhire claims to be the only company in the UK with wholesale agreements with Vodafone, O2, EE, and Three networks, and is a network provider for the eSIMSmart brand.

Global mobile telecoms provider Cellhire has launched phase one of its white-label version of its Atlas SIM management & billing portal.

This will enable indirect partners and resellers to offer a branded portal to its customers and features SIM control, SIM status, data usage and billing information and spend cap control.

Phase two will be introduced later this year and will add enhancements of SIM control such as setting spend caps and alert levels and giving partners greater control.

Cellhire UK Managing Director Matt Bennett said: “The portal puts indirect partners and resellers back in control of their SIMs, usage and billing information, and alerting and spend cap, across multiple networks.

“The white-label approach will be a real aid when onboarding new partners and further enhances why UK Resellers who want to provide IoT and voice and data services to their customers, choose Cellhire as their preferred partner.”

Cellhire Group Chief Technology Officer Peter Whelerton added: “The white-label version of the portal will provide an infinite number of tiers, allowing every level of the supply chain to offer a portal in their branding to their customers with all the main SIM control functions, billing, and usage information.”

Cellhire plans to expand availability of the MVNO beyond France in the future

Cellhire is to launch its own MVNO imminently, starting in France.

The York-based dealer’s offering, called eSIMsmart, will open on Orange France’s mobile network in the first quarter of the year, which begins on May 1 for Cellhire.

The move will enable the company to benefit in the future as the traditional SIM market moves towards eSIMs instead, said Cellhire MD Matt Bennett.

“It future-proofs our business once SIMs disappear and provides a foundation for a product range in the future that we think will be very innovative,” he said.

“It [the MVNO] originated through our long-standing partnership with Orange France. We’ve had our Cellhire entity in France for over 20 years and we’ve been in discussion with Orange on how we can further improve our partnership.

“We were presented with an opportunity from being a wholesale partner in France to become an MVNO.” Bennett added that Cellhire is in discussions to debut the eSIMsmart service in the UK and beyond, remaining in dialogue with its three UK operator partners EE, Vodafone and O2.

NHS move

The company has also helped O2 to connect NHS vaccination sites across the UK.

Cellhire has linked up more than 1,600 NHS vaccination sites with a range of connectivity services across multiple networks.

“COVID-19 has been the single greatest public health emergency in the history of the NHS and it’s a great honour for Cellhire to be part of the backbone of the vaccine programme,” said Bennett.

“The solutions that we are providing will help in managing the vaccination of millions of people as quickly as possible.”

Cellhire is expecting a £3 million boost to its annual revenues after agreeing deals to provide 15,000 connections during the recent Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

The York-based firm, which had company record revenues of £25 million last year, told Mobile News revenue will be down to £23 million for its 2018 results ending April.

It signed and resigned deals with a number of large media organisations, global athletes and sponsors for the winter games in South Korea, which ran from February 9 to 25.

These deals include NBC, Discovery, BBC, Reuters, and teams such as GB, USA, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands as well as official Olympic sponsors Coca-Cola and Visa.

Cellhire signed roaming deals for its 15,000 SIM cards with Korean operators Korea Telecom, LG Uplus and SK Telecom. The tariffs ranged between one and eight months with data packaging going up to 40GB and beyond.

Around 6,000 devices in total were hired out by customers, with 3,600 being MiFi devices and 2,400 smartphones (1,200 iPhones and Samsung phones).

Cellhire managing director Matt Bennett told Mobile News: “We’re undoubtedly the world’s leader in providing solutions for large scale events. Revenue will be somewhere  between two to three million pounds from this fantastic spectacle.

“This year we will have a very strong year, it will be slightly less revenue and profi t from the year before, but it will still be somewhere around £23 million in revenue.

“We’ve also got the [football] World Cup in Russia in June and July which we know will deliver a very good margin and profi t for 2019.”

Cellhire previously supplied solutions to most of the aforementioned customers. It provided 20,000 SIM cards worth £4 million during the Rio Olympics in 2016.

The firm employs 105 staff across the world, with 65 in the UK. It holds offices in France, Japan, Russia, Switzerland and the US.

Cellhire is expecting a £4 million boost to its annual revenues after agreeing deals to provide 20,000 connections during this year’s 2016 Rio  Olympics, beginning in August.

The York-based firm, which had revenues of £21 million last year, told Mobile News it has signed deals with a number of large media organisations, global athletes and sponsors.

These include BBC, Reuters, ITV and teams such as GB, the US, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands as well as official Olympic sponsors McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Visa.

The company has signed roaming deals for its SIMs with Brazilian operators Claro – an official Olympic sponsor – Vivo and Oi. Average tariffs will range between one and three months, with the maximum data package being 40GB.

‘Record-breaking’
“We’re on target to distribute 20,000 SIMs. The volume and high number of customers could make this a record-breaking event for us,” Cellhire MD Matt Bennett told Mobile News. “We are fairly confident because of our existing partnerships and relationships.

Customers come back to us because they know we can be relied upon to deliver a good service. They’re also more likely to promote us to other organisations who haven’t used us before.”

Cellhire has worked with these media companies at previous sporting events. It provided 13,000 connections worth £2.5 million during the 2014 Brazilian World Cup. It also expects to provide 10,000 connections worth £1 million during this year’s European Football Championship in France.

Cellhire employs more than 100 people (65 in the UK) and has around 100 network partnerships (O2 and Vodafone in the UK) across more than 40 countries.

Cellhire is on the lookout for UK resellers to sell its products after its involvement in World Cup-boosted revenues by £2.5 million.

The firm, which specialises in global sporting events, placed 15,000 SIMs with international media organisations such as the BBC, Sky and Reuters during the tournament. It has now opened a permanent office in Brazil ahead of the Rio Olympics in 2016, which UK managing director Matt Bennett (pictured) says would “undoubtedly be the biggest event we have ever had”.

Cellhire is now looking to increase UK B2B resellers from around seven to about 20.

It offers a range of tariffs over different contract lengths from short term through to two-year deals. It has deals in place with more than 100 networks in around 50 countries for discounted rates. “We’re not looking for another 50 resellers, it’s more like 10 of the right kind of reseller,” added Bennett.
