The service covers logistics and supply chain management, including transportation, warehousing, freight forwarding.

The rebrand comes a year after Eurostar commissioned a new 43,000 sq ft distribution and logistics centre after a refit that will saw it upgraded with state-of-art security systems and specialist mobile device handling facilities (main pic). Eurostar Global Electronics has taken out a 10-year lease on the facility which is in the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone.

Tech3PL will also deal with serial tracking, bespoke labeling, software, hardware, packaging, and all associated supply chain management.

Oppo Mobile has chosen Eurostar Global Electronics as an official distribution partner for the UK.

The collaboration will help Oppo improve its brand awareness, and it has ambitions to make significant gains in the UK market in 2023, as well as cement its position as the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the UK by sales volume.

With Eurostar Global as its distributor, Oppo can deliver its portfolio into the business market via Eurostar’s current customer base and expand its retail presence. 

Eurostar Global will start distributing a range of OPPO devices from early December 2022.

Eurostar Global Electronics has confirmed the appointment of Adam Davison as its new supply chain manager.

Davison joins the distributor after 18 years at Tech Data and will report to Eurostar MD Peter Carnall in his new role.

He will be responsible for developing Eurostar’s third-party logistics offering, while also supporting the current operations teams as it moves to its new 43,000sq ft warehouse in Q4 of this year.

“Adam’s appointment will also allow us to develop opportunities with other technology and wireless device suppliers. He will work closely with the rest of the Eurostar team to explore these and help grow our new distribution services,” said Carnall.

The Staffordshire-based distributor ranked 32 out of 100 in the magazine’s annual Growth 100 index for 2022.

Midlands Business Insider’s Growth 100 considers a company’s turnover over five years, from data submitted to Companies House to calculate an average percentage gain over four years. To make it into the G100, a business has to have shown an increase in its turnover of more than 18 per cent a year, for four years.

Eurostar Global’s s ranking in this year’s Growth 100 qualified by its year-on-year growth of 29.18 per cent. Topping the list is Gymshark, Solihull-headquartered fitness apparel and accessories brand which sells online in approximately 170 countries.

Eurostar Global Electronics (EGE) has outlined plans to expand its existing hardware offering during 2022 as key to its growth plans.

The distributor has announced plans to focus on hardware across the audio-visual, gaming, wearable and IoT sectors.

It’s part of EGE’s aims to bolster its existing product offering, while also adding incremental product SKUs to generate new income streams.

The new range of products will enable EGE to work with select new vendors.

A number of senior representatives from EGE attended MWC last week, as the distributor met with a number of new device manufactures during MWC 2022.

Commenting on the focus for the year ahead, managing director Peter Carnall said: “We’re excited about our plans for 2022 and beyond. With our new warehouse facility and the aim of increasing our product and service offerings, we’ll have the capacity and capability to offer a unique and differentiated distribution proposition.

Last year EGE secured a deal with St Mowden for a new state-of-the-art 43,000sq. ft distribution centre (pictured), which is due to open in Q3 2022.

This new HQ will enable the firm to expand its portfolio of products, as EGE looks to expand revenue figures through fulfilment and service opportunities.

Sony UK has appointed Eurostar Global Electronics as a distributor for its consumer products and mobile group.

“Sony’s niche offering of mobile devices incorporate some of the highest specification components available. When paired with their audio-visual products these can provide an unrivalled consumer experience,” said Eurostar Global Managing Director Peter Carnall.

The deal adds to other major accounts won in the last year by Eurostar.  Other clients and partners including Emporia, Alcatel, OnePlus, CAT and TCL.

The Sony addition is a massive win for Eurostar since it was established in 2007. The company currently employs over 69 full-time staff and achieved a turnover of £125m in 2020/21.

Carnall and Brett Watmough formed the company to service the export and secondary markets with mobile handsets sourced primarily from UK Channels.

Eurostar Global has announced plans to relocate its headquarters later this year.

The distributor has confirmed it has signed a 10-year deal with St. Mowden Logistics to move to the new 43,000 sq ft facility in Stoke.

Operational staff are expected to move to the new HQ, located at St Mowden Park Stoke Central in Q4.

With the current headcount at 60, Eurostar Global are ambitious that the move will allow staffing numbers to grow past 100 in the next three years.

It also comes as Eurostar Global reported yearly growth of 20 per cent during 2020, the distributor’s fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth.

This new unit includes a 52m yard, 10m haunch height, two dock level loading doors, two level access loading doors plus grade ‘A’ office accommodation.

Outgrown

Commenting on the plans, Eurostar Global MD Peter Carnall said: “Despite challenges faced across the economy during the last 12 months with both the Covid pandemic and the UK’s exit from the European Union, Eurostar has continued to deliver for its vendors and customers.

“Having outgrown our existing facility, the business has solid growth opportunities and plans in place that will see this increased space enable a vibrant and diverse cross-section of incremental revenue streams.”

Eurostar Global sales and purchasing director Brett Watmough added: “The move is spurred on by our 20 per cent growth in the last year, our fourth year in a row of double-digit growth.

“We have unprecedented demand for our products and services from vendors, airtime resellers, MNOs, MVNOs and large retailers. The move to this new facility will allow us to deliver for these partners.”

Chinese premium vendor to develop range of more affordable devices

Chinese smartphone vendor OnePlus has appointed Eurostar Global Electronics as its official UK distributor.

OnePlus is based in Shenzhen, Guangdong and was set up by Pete Lau and Carl Pei seven years ago. It now operates in 34 countries and regions around the world.

It adapted a novel marketing model of developing an engaged community of fans and now has including 13 million forum members from more than 183 countries, who guide new product development through their feedback.

Eurostar Global has been appointed as the official UK distribution partner of Verve Connect’s smartphone brand IMO.

Verve Connect stock a variety of technology products, including mobile handsets and wireless and fixed routers.

The partnership with Eurostar Global will see the distributor range Verve Connect products.

From this month a selected range of IMO models will be available through the distributor.

IMO chief marketing officer Chris Edwards says the partnership will enable IMO to expand its UK presence.

Eurostar Global’s new business development director Ewan Davies added: “We have been working with Verve Connect for some time now on several projects and during this period we have discovered that there are huge synergies with Eurostar Global as both businesses operate with an entrepreneurial spirit with a “can do” attitude.

“This will give us the ability to create propositions that not only enhance our current offerings, but will also allow us to create new revenue streams as we move forward together.”

Eurostar Global Electronics is hoping to build on a year of impressive growth despite the uncertain economic conditions.

The distributor saw turnover for its most recent financial year hit £103 million, an increase on £88 million the previous year.

Although its financial year ended in April this year, Eurostar has seen no slowdown in business throughout lockdown. According to sales and purchasing director Brett Watmough (pictured), sales for May and June show a year-on-year sales increase of 10 per cent.

Watmough added that there are “several new major customers due to transfer business to Eurostar in the next few weeks,” although he did not disclose which ones.

“Amongst other things, I attribute this success to a focused team with a combined experience in mobile of well over 300 years, with the desire to deliver for customers and vendors alike,” he said.

“To move from £27.6 million in turnover to more than £100 million in four years is phenomenal,” added Eurostar’s head of retail Dave Copestake, who added that business had grown “across the board”.

Currently, Eurostar’s sales and management teams are working from home, while the warehouse and technical teams remain at its offices under strict social distancing and hygiene measures. Copestake believes that the office will be in full use again by the end of the year.

As well as onboarding new clients and continuing to grow sales, Eurostar will also market its internally developed Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, named Escape, under licence. Although it was built with mobile distribution in mind, Eurostar says it can be tailored to work for different channels and industries.
